What kind of services do you
provide?
As an employment service, we match
qualified people to provide essential services for elders and
people with special needs. These services may be hourly,
overnight or 24 hour live-in care.
Who needs Care at Home?
Seniors or
adults who cannot carry out the activities of daily living that
individuals perform to survive and function in daily life.
Their needs may have come about due to
an injury, illness or aging. They may need extra help or
companionship to remain in their home, or simply respite care for the
husband or wife who cares for an ailing spouse.
How much does Home Care cost?
Caregiver rates are negotiable and the agency charges
a 25% placement fee for the first 75 days worked. There are no
minimum hours required or length of service.
Does insurance cover these
costs?
Insurance rarely cover these
costs, however, check with our administrators.
Where is
Care At Home's service area?
Care at Home predominantly covers
the greater Seattle area including parts of King, Snohomish,
Pierce, Kitsap and San Juan Counties in Washington.
How long have you been in
business?
The owner and administrators have
been in the industry
since 1987. We came to Seattle in 1992 and moved
into our new West Seattle Office in January 2005.
How do you select caregivers for referrals?
All caregivers are carefully screened. We verify
their work history and review their references, recommendations
and education. It is a priority that their certifications
be current including Nurse Aide, CPR, First Aid, and TB test.
We also do a complete criminal background check with the
Washington State Patrol. We look for a minimum of two
years experience of private duty care. We have the finest,
caring and compassionate providers and make sure that they are
able to communicate fluently with you.
Will I always have the same caregiver?
It is important to us that
you have the same caregiver. That continuity of care
creates bonds of trust and comfort. When care is 7 days a
week, there are usually 2 caregivers with a 3rd as backup.
What if we
don't like the caregiver you recommend?
We make every effort to
carefully match you with a caregiver and provide you with the
opportunity to interview the caregiver without obligation.
If after a period of time you are not comfortable with your
caregiver, we will make every effort to match you with another.
What if
someone calls in sick? What about weekends?
If your regular provider is
unavailable for any reason, we will assist in providing
emergency staffing. The agency is on call 24 hours a day,
7 days a week.
How do I set up services?
Once a request for care has been made, a Care
Manager will conduct a consultation and assessment with you. A
highly flexible, personalized and detailed care plan is
developed with the input of family members and an appropriate
Personal Assistant whose skills best meets your needs is
assigned.
